"PAY WHAT YOU CAN" Benefit Screenings for HARVEY ARTS RECOVERY (harveyartsrecovery.org)

The Lark Theater is joining arthouse theaters across the country hosting screenings of APOLLO 13 to benefit harveyarts.org - a disaster recovery program supporting the arts, culture and creative community affected by hurricane Harvey in  the Greater Houston area.

As a collaborative effort of Houston's arts services sector, the Harvey Arts Recovery's focus is on aiding individual artists and rebuilding and restoring smaller organizations.

SYNOPSIS: Based on the events of the Apollo 13 lunar mission, astronauts Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks), Fred Haise (Bill Paxton) and Jack Swigert (Kevin Bacon) find everything going according to plan after leaving Earth's orbit. However, when an oxygen tank explodes, the scheduled moon landing is called off. Subsequent tensions within the crew and numerous technical problems threaten both the astronauts' survival and their safe return to Earth.
